Permanent Housing

Permanent housing is a place that you can live in for multiple years. Examples of permanent housing include: apartments and homes that get money/assistance the federal government—though these often have long waitlists and require you to have somewhere else to live first; single-room occupancy (SRO) units where you usually have a private bedroom and bathroom, but a shared kitchen and living space; affordable apartments; and living permanently with family, friends, or other people who support you. For general tips for renters, see PG. 396 of this chapter.
