Do I have to return to the same community that I came from for my federal parole?

Usually, yes. In most instances, you will be released to parole in the U.S. Judicial District of your legal residence, or in the U.S. Judicial District where you were convicted of the federal offense.[1027]

THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION: if the U.S. Parole Commission decides that your chances of success on parole will be better in another community, or believes it would serve “the public interest,” it can order you be paroled to a different District.[1028]
