What is an ICE worksite raid?

A worksite raid is the sudden entry of ICE agents into a place of business in order to detect and detain undocumented workers. Under Donald Trump’s presidency, workplace raids have become more common. In response, in 2017 California passed the Immigrant Worker Protection Act, which is designed to protect undocumented workers from unplanned immigration enforcement. The Act limits employers’ ability to let ICE officials into their place of business.[3493] See the Know Your Rights box below for more information.
