What should I do if ICE raids my workplace?

Under the Immigrant Worker Protection Act, your employer is supposed to prevent ICE from entering nonpublic places without consent or a warrant.[3494] Still, ICE raids can be stressful and may not go according to plan. Remember that all people in the U.S. — regardless of their immigration status — has certain legal rights, including the right to remain silent and the right to speak to an attorney before signing anything. If ICE detains you, you have the right to an immigration attorney. You should create a plan with your loved ones so you are prepared for contact with ICE. For more information on creating a family preparedness plan, see PG. 1120.
