What is an “Undocumented Person” California driver license?

If you are an undocumented immigrant, but otherwise meet the requirements to drive legally in California, you may be able to get an AB 60 “Undocumented Person” driver license. It is very important to know that the AB 60 driver license is NOT an official form of ID because it does not qualify you for employment, voter registration, or public benefits in the United States. HOWEVER, an AB 60 driver license will allow you to drive a car legally in California—and California only.[3458]

Proof of Residency: When applying for an AB 60 license, you will need to submit proof that you currently live in California. For a list of documents that meet this requirement, see Appendix H, PG. 103.
