Can I be disenrolled or prevented from enrolling in my tribe because of my criminal record?

Usually not. While each tribe has its own policies and rules around tribal enrollment and disenrollment, having a criminal record is not usually a factor.

However, please note that some Tribes may dis-enroll and/or banish tribal members or expel non-tribal individuals from their reservation if convicted of a sex offense (e.g., this is true of the Hoopa Valley Tribe).[3378]
