What happens if I fail to register with my tribe?
Each tribe sets its own penalties around failure to register, which will typically be outlined in each tribe’s ordinance regarding registration for sex offenses. Generally, the tribal police department or public safety office with receive information regarding the failure to register. The penalty for failing to register can be as severe as permanent banishment or exclusion.
