What are tribal housing programs?

Some tribes receive federal funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) to provide their own housing programs. Each tribe designates an agency, often called a tribal housing authority, to oversee its housing programs. Any tribe receiving federal funds must follow HUD rules and regulations regarding housing eligibility rules.[3388] See PG. 364 to learn more about how a criminal record can impact your ability to live in federally funded housing.
