Do I have to appear in person after I register?
Tribes often require that you appear in person within a few business days of establishing a residence, entering, commencing employment, or becoming a student on lands subject to the jurisdiction of the tribe. Usually you will need to appear before the Tribal Police Department or Public Safety Office.
See e.g., Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California, Law & Order Code, Title 31, Sex Offender Registration and Notification Ordinance (“For foreign, federal, state, tribal, and military convictions, a sex offender must appear in person at the WTPD within three (3) business days of entering Washoe Country either after release from incarceration.”), https://www.washoetribe.us/contents/images/documents/LawAndOrderCode/Title_31_SORNO.pdf. ↑
